I am delighted to welcome you to our website. We have high aspirations for the future. Through our vertical House system, in which every child matters, and our specialism of Health and Science, we will promote traditional values of respect, caring for each other and self-discipline, while celebrating the academy’s diverse talents, abilities and cultures.

The academy is built on the philosophy that the learner should be at the heart of all our thinking and should experience excellent teaching and learning in a safe and caring environment. Our core purpose is to ensure that every student achieves highly in a range of academic and vocational subjects, gains exam success that will give them every opportunity to be successful and healthy citizens and independent life-long learners.

As a Dixons Academy, we are adopting the same positive approach as our sponsor and, as a result, achievement rates will rise quickly, behaviour will be outstanding and we will all share a positive ‘can do’ attitude. We welcome all our students and their families and will strive for a cohesive community where everyone is valued no matter what their background, culture or faith.

By January 2012 we will be housed in a £29 million new building with the very best facilities for our students - a high quality environment to deliver 21st Century learning. We want our academy to be a learning resource for all the community, meeting the needs of local residents and business, as well as students and their families.
