Primary admissions

If you have been offered a place in Reception for September and received your offer by e-mail, we appreciate that parents may be unable to print their reply slips to return them.  Parents can, therefore, send an e-mail instead to:  admissions@dixonsaa.com

Please state the name of your child on the e-mail and whether you are accepting the place or not.  If you are not accepting the place, please state which school your child has a confirmed place at.

If you received your allocation letter by post, the reply slip can still be sent by post to the school address.

Following updated advice regarding Covid-19, staff in the Admissions and Appeals Office will be working remotely as much as it is possible to do so. If you have any questions please contact us by e-mail to admissions@dixonsaa.com or telephone 01274 089780 and choose the option for Admissions & Appeals.

Admissions into Reception for September 2020

The national offer date for school places was 16th April 2020.  Parents who completed the local authorities Common Application/Preference Form will be advised by the local authorities of the school allocated to their child on this date.

For Dixons Allerton, there were over 210 applications on the Common Application Form for the 60 places available.  The breakdown of places by oversubscription criteria was as follows:

  • EHCP – 1
  • Looked-after – 0
  • Exceptional social/medical need – 0
  • Staff - 1
  • Siblings – 35
  • Distance (the furthest distance was 0.384 miles) – 23
  • Sibling in the same year – 0

Regrettably because of the high number of applications, it has not been possible to offer every child, who wants one, a place.  We automatically keep every child's name on the waiting list until the end of December 2020.  You are advised to return the local authority's Waiting List form (available in the Downloads section below) to inform them if you want to stay on the waiting list for this or any other school.

If you have any specific questions about the waiting list or admissions process, please contact us via e-mail to:  admissions@dixonsaa.com

In-Year admissions

Dixons Allerton Academy is a very popular school and, consequently, a vacancy is only likely to occur if a child leaves the year group, which does not happen very often.

Should you wish to add your child to the waiting list, please contact the Academy with the information stated below; you may also wish to include the reason for application.

  • Child’s full name, date of birth, present school and home address
  • Name of parent/carer
  • Address of parent/carer, if different to the child's address
  • Contact telephone number

Because we are part of a coordinated admission scheme, you also need to complete an In-Year Application Form for the local authority in order to be eligible for a place if a vacancy occurs.

The In-Year form is available by downloading it from their website (see address below) or by contacting the Admissions Team at the local authority:

Website:           https://www.bradford.gov.uk/education-and-skills/school-admissions/in-year-applications/

E-mail:              schooladmissions@bradford.gov.uk

Telephone:        01274 439200

Where vacancies do occur, places are decided by applying our oversubscription criteria (see Admissions & Appeals Policy below).
