Dan joined Dixons Allerton Academy in November 2019, having worked in Leeds since the start of his teaching career. Before joining Dixons, Dan held senior leadership positions in a number of large Academy Trusts in Leeds and Wakefield and has undertaken various roles and responsibilities.

Having studied at high school and sixth form in Leeds, he went on to graduate from York St. John University with a BA (Hons) in Physical Education with Geography. Shortly after, Dan completed a postgraduate diploma in Teaching and Learning with Leeds Metropolitan University.

Dan spent 15 years playing professional sport in Leeds and proudly continues his role with the Leeds Rhinos as a scholarship coach, a position he has held with the club since 2004.

As an experienced teacher and professional sports coach, Dan is passionate about health and well-being and believes everyone has the potential to achieve greatness. Having spent his entire career working in challenging schools, Dan is relentless in his drive to change mind-sets and influence the expectations of the people he works with. In his new role Dan hopes to motivate the scholars at DAA to leave with outcomes they are proud of and hold aspirations with no barriers.

When Dan is not in school he enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking and adventuring.
