Healthy Futures event
Date of Event: 3rd May 2024
We're making it easier for you to access healthcare. If you're a parent / carer or family member of Dixons Allerton Academy, come along to our Healthy Futures event in the sports hall, on Friday 3 May from 9.30am - 2.30pm. You'll be able to access advice from healthcare professionals from your local NHS Community Children's service, plus health checks and vaccinations, or get some information about what support is on offer locally.
You will need to book an appointment for the services listed below. Please email healthyfutures@bdct.nhs.uk to secure a spot, and put the service you'd like to book in the subject line:
- speech and language therapy discussion
- baby weighing
- child’s development review
- school nurse drop-in
- hearing check
- getting ready to start school - support for parents
- height and weight check for primary school pupils
- vaccinations - catch up on any your child missed
- specialist immunisation support for children with special needs
- meet the specialist nurses for SEND.
You don't need an appointment for the following services:
- meet your healthcare teams - health visiting, school nursing, school nursing special needs and more
- get oral health advice and see toothbrushing demonstrations
- find out how to get healthcare advice using Chat Health
- learn about knife injuries and resuscitation techniques
- get mental health support find out about volunteering and career opportunities in healthcare
- Young Dynamos.
