Nigat Ali

Assistant Vice Principal

Nigat has over 20 years of teaching English in multiple schools in inner city Bradford, all located in great areas of social disadvantage. She started her role at Dixons Allerton in September 2022 as an Assistant Vice Principal with responsibility for data, assessment and intervention.

Earlier on in her career she has successfully worked as a Head of Year, Advanced Skills Teacher in English, Lead Practitioner for literacy and Associate Assistant Principal in schools that celebrated a trajectory from requires improvement to outstanding. Prior to her role at DAA she was as an Assistant Principal responsible for teaching and learning, pedagogy, coaching, leading the ITT and ECT programme and very recently a SENCo. Additionally, she also holds the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL).

Nigat feels very honoured and privileged to be part of the Dixon’s family, a community that fosters a culture that is relentless in transforming lives through hugely improving academic achievement, developing character and massively raising the aspirations of our youngsters through outstanding practice. Education has been a real life journey for her, originating from a disadvantaged background in Manningham facing poverty, cultural gender inequality and poor literacy. Her core moral purpose is to give children strong aspirations, enabling them to reach their full potential in the same way she did growing up in Manningham in the 90s; to be the absolute best they can be and have no ceiling on their achievement.
